About the Author

KAREN BANEY, CHRISTIAN AUTHOR

I love writing. Whether it is historical fiction set in my beloved state of Arizona or a modern story set in the Phoenix Metro Area, my novels always tell an engaging story of flawed characters in needed of second chances, redemption, or they must overcome personal trials. I love finding ways to weave real history and real settings into my stories.

My husband, Jim, and I live in Gilbert, Arizona with our dogs Bella and Daisy. We enjoy traveling throughout the state finding new adventures which often end up influencing the stories I write. We also are very active at Rock Point Church in Queen Creek, Arizona.

My Review

The Railroad Magnate is a nice addition to the Colter Sons series and happens to be my favorite book in this series.

This book is amazingly plotted and keeps your attention till the end. The plot had an unexpected twist, which took me by surprise, but it was a pleasant twist.

For those of you who love a love at first sight trope, this is a keeper.

I love how Karen Baney can get scenarios and situations that can happen in our everyday lives and string it along together with a story of romance.

I liked that James was always supportive of Keri’s career. Being a woman lawyer was not dampener for his love.

I liked Keri’s character. I can relate so much. We make choices that we want, but in the end, they can lead to disappointment for the people that we love.

This book will hit home for lots of people who are afraid of disappointing people they love, while doing what they want to do. Keri wanted to be with James, but her mother wasn’t that convinced in the relationship. For us it doesn’t have to be a relationship, it can be a job we really want or a place we want to live. In the end, it can result in hiding because of the disappointment we don’t want to face.

Rating: 5 out of 5.
